Scrip is a program where you buy gift certificates /debit cards. Christ the King is able to buy these certificates at a discount and resell them to you at face value. The difference between the discounted price and the price you pay is kept by the parish to benefit the church, school or religious education fees — you choose. Scrip also can lower your child's tuition costs by specifically choosing this scrip designation at the time of purchase (see below for more information).
Scrip is easy to use and in most cases there are no restrictions. Unless otherwise noted, Scrip can be used for all store merchandise for the full face value. It can even be used for some online purchases or paying some credit card balances (see link below for participating vendors).
For example: If you buy $100 in Hy-Vee Scrip, you can use it to buy $100 in grocery items (including pharmacy, photos, and movie rentals). Hy-Vee Scrip has 3% profit so Christ the King purchased the Scrip for $97. The $3 difference is profit for Christ the King. You spend no extra money, but Christ the King receives a percentage of the Scrip you buy.
Scrip Order Forms
Scrip order forms are available in the school office, church office, and in the back of Church after weekend Mass. They can also be printed from a pdf file (link below). You may leave the order form with the Scrip seller after weekend Mass, take it to the church office, or send the form to school with your child on Mondays with your payment. You will receive the on hand Scrip certificates by Wednesday. If the Scrip has to be ordered from the GLSC, it usually will be available on Friday or the next weekend after weekend Mass. All items are available after weekend Mass. A limited supply of Dahl's, Fareway and HyVee cards are kept in the parish office.
Earns Dollars for School Tuition at CTK School, Dowling or Religious Education Fees with TRIP!
The Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (TRIP) is a way for school and religious education (RE) families to reduce the cost of school tuition or RE fees through the purchase of Scrip. You automatically are enrolled in the TRIP program. TRIP is accumulated and paid out once per year toward next school year tuition and or RE fees. Please ensure that if the child’s last name is different than the person buying the scrip, you MUST note you are buying scrip for that child.
